Over the past 65 years, most M1 rifles have been arsenal rebuilt, refinished, rebarreled or repaired at least once and often several times. The popularity of the M1 Garand continues to grow as hundreds of new Garand “Fun” Matches are being held all across the USA each year. In the past several years, the M1 Garand, regardless of condition, has become a very hot collectors’ item and sound financial investment. We hope to open up rifle types again once we have restocked our inventory and processed the majority of our backorders. Our stores were stocked before we left for quarantine and we did not pull the stock back because it would slow all processes. Our rifle inventory is limited at this time due to our log of backorders and the 7 week CMP shutdown due to COVID-19.

The CMP considers any item containing an M1 Garand receiver with a serial number to be an M1 Garand and will deduct from the eight M1 Garand rifle limit per year. Army and the Civilian Marksmanship Program, M1 Garands will be limited to eight per calendar year, per customer. Currently it is still partially covered in the original cosmoline/grease as returned to the CMP.Per the newly completed and signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the U.S. A noted this rifle is complete with its original CMP certificate and shipping box numbered to this rifle. The barrel is marked: " SA F6535448 1-55 A217B" followed by the correct "P" and "M" proof marks, with the breech end of the barrel still in the white. The rear of the receiver has the standard four line, Springfield Armory markings over the serial number (5825895). It is all original and unaltered with all its original Springfield Armory parkerized finish and correct SA marked parts. This beautiful rifle was one of the original Foreign Military Sales rifles sold to Greece in the late 1950s that was a new production rifle that never got issued, correctly stored in cosmoline, that was then returned to the CMP in the late 1990s and sold in 2004. This an absolutely, brand new, unissued late Springfield Armory "collector grade" M1 Garand rifle as sold by the CMP in June 2004.
